The object

The value is in what you can see—and keep.

The silver is the foundation. The value of the collectible is also in the art pressed into that silver, the physical relief and finish, the number carried by the coin, and the record that follows that number.

The people behind the coin

Built by a father and a son.

Shane and Caiden Jennings built Florida Man Mint from the Florida stories they grew up around: saltwater, storms, old wrecks, and the strange edge where a real place becomes a legend.

Their roots began on the Atlantic. For the last fifteen years, they’ve lived on the Gulf, carrying those stories from one Florida coast to the other. Today, Florida Man Mint is based in Sarasota and gives those stories a physical home in silver.

Backed by Certified Rare Coin Auctions. Certified Rare Coin Auctions is a Sarasota-based rare-coin and currency business. Its history in the coin trade dates to 2002. It is the business backing Florida Man Mint.

A number you can point to.

The First Tide is the opening release: 150 pieces, numbered 001–150 on the edge. If standard-release pieces follow, the High-Water Mark still caps the design at 500 pieces, ever.

Plain answers

Before you claim a number.

Why is Spear of the Gulf $179?

The price is for the complete numbered collectible: one ounce of .999 fine silver, original two-sided artwork in physical relief, the Tideglass finish, an edge number, its certificate and Registry record, the story materials and presentation, plus free insured standard U.S. shipping. The silver is the foundation; the designed, numbered, documented object is the whole offer.

Who backs Florida Man Mint?

Certified Rare Coin Auctions is a Sarasota-based rare-coin and currency business with a history in the coin trade dating to 2002. It is the business backing Florida Man Mint, the father-and-son brand created by Shane and Caiden Jennings.

Who makes Florida Man Mint coins?

Florida Man Mint LLC, a Sarasota, Florida company founded by Shane and Caiden Jennings, designs and issues every coin, sells them direct at floridamanmint.com, and records each edge number in the Registry. The current releases are Spear of the Gulf and The Sunken Real.

Is this the same as the “Florida Man” silver round sold on eBay?

No. That is a generic bullion round from a different mint. A Florida Man Mint coin is an original design, edge-numbered 001–150, with its own certificate and Registry record.

What do 150 and 500 mean?

The First Tide Release contains 150 pieces, numbered 001–150 on the edge. A design may later have standard-release pieces, but the High-Water Mark limits that design to 500 pieces in total. The first 150 retain their First Tide identity.
